A Parent's Guide to
Parable Post
Everything you need to know about using Parable Post stories to build character, spark conversations, and create meaningful family moments.
Getting Started
Welcome to Parable Post! Whether you've just subscribed or are exploring what we offer, this guide will help you make the most of our personalized story service.
Each month, your child will receive a beautifully illustrated letter in the mail. Inside, they'll find a story where they are the hero — facing challenges, making choices, and learning lessons about courage, kindness, honesty, and more.
How to Read Parable Post Stories
Read Aloud Together
These stories are designed for reading aloud. Take turns reading paragraphs, use different voices for characters, and don't rush. Savor the moment.
Pause and Ask Questions
"What would you do in this situation?" "How do you think the character feels?" The best learning happens in the pauses between the words.
Talk About the Moral
Every story ends with a clear moral. But don't just read it — discuss it. Ask your child what they think it means and how it applies to their life.
Read It Again
Kids love repetition. Reading the same story multiple times helps the lessons sink in and gives you new angles to explore together.
Best Practices from Our Community
💡 Make it a Ritual
"We open the letter together at breakfast on the first Sunday of every month. It's become our favorite family tradition." — Sarah M.
💡 Keep Them Visible
"We pin the illustrations to the fridge. When behavior issues come up, I can say 'Remember what happened in your story?' and my son immediately gets it." — David K.
💡 Share With Family
"My daughter loves to read her letters to her grandparents on FaceTime. It's a beautiful way to connect across the miles." — Jessica L.
Choosing the Right Stories
Each story includes an age range badge. Here's what they mean:
Simple narratives with clear morals. Perfect for bedtime reading or early readers.
More complex themes and characters. Great for sparking deeper conversations.
Nuanced stories that tackle harder questions about identity, integrity, and growing up.
